Some people like surprises, but generally not when the surprise involves a legal bill.
We aim to be as transparent as possible and publish our base pricing. Use the calculator below to find out what you’re looking at in terms of pricing. Sometimes there are additional costs because of issues that arise, but we let our clients know of this as soon as we are made aware. Our invoices are detailed, and we clearly separate our legal fee, and all third-party disbursements, line by line.
There are no lump sums for “general disbursements”. When price shopping, it is important to get a quote that is all-inclusive and clear as to the legal fee, third-party costs, and all other costs, so that you can compare apples to apples.
Some of the Realtors and Mortgage Brokers that we work with have commented on our detailed billing practices and had no idea what the line-by-line costs were for a real estate transaction prior to seeing our detailed invoices.
In our opinion, this should be the norm, so it is clear to clients exactly how their hard-earned money is being spent.
